TO ACTION: DONATE TOWARDS KARONGA EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
“THE
POWER OF ONE KHODO CAMPAIGN”
Imagine
what 1 Kwacha can do!!!
During the
past weeks Karonga has experienced a number of earthquakes. So far
four earthquakes have hit Karonga since the 6th
December 2009. Children, young people and their families have been
displaced and lost all their possessions and other people have lost
lives. On 21st
December 2009, his Excellency Ngwazi Dr. Bingu Wa Mutharika declared
Karonga a disaster district following these earthquakes. We are all
concerned and touched with the hardship that the families in Karonga
are experiencing and would like to lend a hand and join the
government in raising funds to assist the victims.
Lets
act now and help the children, women and our fellow young people
suffering today!! Remember 70% (9.1 million) of the 13 million
population in Malawi are young people aged less than 30 years.
Imagine
if ‘we’ young people contribute a minimum of 1
KWACHA towards
this cause as a sign of goodwill. A one kwacha each would raise MK9.1
million which will be donated to the children, women, fellow young
people and all victims in Karonga through the District Commissioner.
Will this not make a difference?
We
need to act and act now!
Therefore
we would like to appeal to all young people in Malawi and other well
wishers to help. It is the festive season and so let us show
goodwill.
Collect
a MK1 or more and send it to National Youth Council of Malawi,
0141-0017-03003, Standard Bank, Capital City Branch.
