3 Billion YEDF launch.
The state president Ngwazi, Dr Bingu Wa Muthalika recently launched the much awaited 3 billion YEDF ... what was the launch like.. how are the youth responding to the fund.

Karonga Earth quake initiative. the Youth council made a special effort to assist youth that were affected in Karonga through the 1 kwacha per youth initiative.... did this initiative work

The National Youth Council of Malawi

The National Youth Council of Malawi was enacted by 'The National Youth Council of Malawi Act No. 22 of 1996'.

The Council aims to“To work towards empowering the youth of Malawi to utilize their potential to realize their aspirations and ambitions for their personal development and for national development"

The Council recognizes the need to provide opportunities for all youth in Malawi regardless of status. In view of this,
the Council endeavors to promote the participation of disadvantaged youth in all its programmes and activities.

The Youth Council identifies the following youth as priorities:

• Street youth
• Out-of-school youth
• Deviant youth
• Female youth

The council activities include programs that deal with

Youth economic empowerment through promoting the education, training and youth livelihoods skills
Science, technology and Environment
Population, health and environment
Social services, recreation, sports and culture
Adolescent reproductive health
